One-time chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Dr Nyaho Nyaho- Tamakloe, has launched a scathing attack on the Black Stars after they painfully lost to their Zambian counterparts at the ongoing 2012 African Cup of Nations.
He bemoaned the abysmal performance of the foreign-based players in the team and called for their immediate expulsion from the national team.
The Black Stars crashed out in the semi-final Wednesday night at the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final after losing 1-0 to the Chipolopolo of Zambia at the Estadio de Bata.
Ghana missed the opportunity to end a 30 year drought of African Cup of Nations title courtesy a 78th minute goal by substitute Emmanuel Mayuka.
In an interview with Joy News, Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe said the Black Stars' loss does not come to him as a surprise, adding that apart from the Ayew brothers (Dede and Jordan) who performed exceptionally well “all the players are useless”
He therefore advocated for more local-based players to be incorporated into the Black Stars team.
On the contrary, sport analyst Moses Foh-Amoaning commended the Black Stars for a sterling performance but called on Coach Goran Stevanov to ensure there are more experience goalies for the national team.
Carl Tuffuor a sports analyst said despite the Stars impressive performance against the Zambians, the team need to prepare more ahead of the next African Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa next year
Carl believes Coach Goran Stevanov needs to get more strikers for the team.
