Black Maidens Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes his side to be favourites for the African Women’s National Team of the Year award.
The Ghana Under-17 female team are competing with the Nigeria Under-20 side and Equatorial Guinea for the 2012 African female National team of the year at the at the Glo-CAF awards to be held in Accra on Thursday.
Mas-Ud Dramani led the Black Maidens to take bronze in the FIFA U-17 women’s world cup in Azerbaijan earlier this year, the best ever result achieved by any African country.
This, according to the current Asante Kotoko coach, makes the Black Maidens favourites for the award.
“I think the Black Maidens stand tall among the other two nominees,” he told Joy Sports.
“I will be very surprised if this doesn’t happen because the Black Maidens did not only carry the Ghana flag at the World Cup in Azerbaijan, but also the whole of Africa and they excelled.”
